The GEARE Executive Board is composed of passionate students dedicated to enhancing the international engineering experience at Purdue. From organizing networking events and professional development opportunities, to fostering a strong community of globally minded engineers both on and off campus, our team works behind the scenes to ensure GEARE students get the most out of their experiences.

Sandra Bern - President
Senior in Mechanical Engineering and Spanish for the Professions
Studied in Spain
Favorite GEARE memory: My favorite GEARE memory was seeing the Parthenon and Acropolis in Athens, Greece, seeing it at night with lights from afar and the next day going atop the mountain and visiting it.

Yi Tao Sun - VP Communications
Freshman in Mechanical Engineering
Intends to study in Germany
Fun fact: I can do multiple one-arm pushups.

Cooper Niemeier - VP Development
Senior in EEE and /Spanish
Studied in Ecuador
Fun fact: I have only been to two continents and two time zones

Augustin Scherrer - VP Growth
Sophomore in Mechanical Engineering/Computer Science
Intends to study in Spain
Fun fact: I always try all the samples at Costco.
Favorite GEARE memory: Making friends with like minded people - Exploration Acres event last semester.

Camille Jorenby - Director of Digital Operations

Fun fact: I have visited 30 National Parks in the US and plan to visit all 63!

Mitch Davis - Director of Recruitment

Fun fact: I was picked to yodel on a stage in a fondue restaurant in Lucerne, Switzerland

Hattie Sparks - Director of Social Programs
